Entertaiment is anything that causes one to forget about their troubles and concerns. Whether it is music, sports, movies, or even a good book, entertainment is very much needed to keep us happy and feeling alive. However, some kinds of entertainment may be regarded as being below human dignity. For example, it is considered to be sexual entertainment if someone exposes their breast in public.

The word entertainment comes from the Latin intertenere, which means “to hold inside.” From this we get a sense that entertainers have the ability to make something familiar feel new and exciting again.
