What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment: Something that envelops you in a euphoric state, makes you forget your problems and wish that the moment never ends. In today’s society, entertainment can take on many forms from theater to dance to music concerts to sporting events and movies. The root word “entertain” is closely related to the word intestine through the Medieval Latin inter-tenere. It has also been associated with the Indo-European root ten, meaning to stretch.

The idea of entertainment is strongly associated with amusement, although some entertainers may seek a deeper meaning in their work such as religious festivals or satire. It is important to remember that any form of entertainment can be offensive or harmful.
